Our mission is to support children’s play
We believe that children’s play is both a sign and catalyst for healthier individuals, families and communities. A person’s best memories are often the most simple – a muddy puddle, a tree for climbing, a box fort with friends. We help adults provide opportunities for children to have such experiences now.
We do this by applying principles of the UK-based field of playwork for schools, neighbourhoods, museums, parks, and anywhere else that children can be found. This includes training, resources, and ongoing support for play advocates and child professionals. We weave playwork ethics and practices through all of our work, building relationships with children, colleagues and communities.
Start small, start now, keep going. Let’s change the world together.
We are so pleased to be part of this thoughtfully put together online conference, and hope that you will be part of it too.
“Between the thoughtful mentoring and the first-hand experiences of hosting pop-up adventure playgrounds, I have come to fully appreciate and trust in the process, and the children themselves.” – Reflections from PDC graduate and independent organiser Divya from India.
“The war lasted for twelve years and during that time, many things changed. Things like the freedom to go outside and play with your friends.” – Reflections from playworker and PDC graduate Maritza from El Salvador
