Our mission is to support children’s play
We believe that children’s play is both a sign and catalyst for healthier individuals, families and communities. A person’s best memories are often the most simple – a muddy puddle, a tree for climbing, a box fort with friends. We help adults provide opportunities for children to have such play adventure experiences now.
This is achieved by applying principles of the UK-based field of playwork for schools, neighbourhoods, museums, an adventure play pop up park and anywhere else that children can be found. This includes playwork training, resources and ongoing support for play advocates and child professionals. We weave playwork ethics and practices through all of our work, building relationships with children, colleagues and communities.
Start small, start now, keep going. Let’s change the world together.

End of Year Reflections: 2022
“Thank you… for allowing us to tell us our stories, for trusting us to connect you with one another, and for helping us to build a community in playwork in multiple languages and multiple platforms. We don’t take this for granted because we know play advocacy is hard, and building trust can be a vulnerable process.”

At Pop-Up Adventure Play, we can help with registering or hosting your very own children’s adventure playground or playwork event! We have a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about children’s play and adventure and we would love to help you create something special for the children in your community.
Whether you’re looking to set up a one-off event or something more permanent, we can provide advice and support on every aspect of children’s pop-up adventure playgrounds and playwork, from risk assessment to equipment sourcing. What a totally brilliant event today in St Mary’s Park. The creativity, concentration and enthusiasm from everyone there was awesome to witness. Thanks for being part of Prestwich Arts Festival 2018!
